In this session, Türkiye’s current status in wind energy, along with its future expectations and goals, will be thoroughly examined in alignment with the projects and initiatives led by TÜREB. The session will address the ongoing YEKA (Renewable Energy Resource Area) studies for the Taşeli plateau, carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources and TEİAŞ, as well as Turkey’s offshore wind energy master plan, goals, and auction mechanisms. Additionally, the session will highlight the economic and strategic significance of the development and export potential of Turkey’s wind energy industry. The importance of incentives and local content support in fostering and growing this industrial capacity, LCOE (Levelized Cost of Energy) considerations in investments, and the role of the super permit mechanism in accelerating investments will also be discussed. Lastly, Turkey’s future wind energy targets, strategies, and forecasts will be explored in depth.
